Shmos Bistro Italian Fusion Cuisine

Shmo’s Bistro held a soft-opening on April 21, 2011. The self-coined ‘Italian Fusion’ bistro assumed the location where Classic’s Pizza once lived on Research Forest Drive in Shenandoah. The original soft open date was April 22 but as luck would have it, the remodel went smoothly and they are ahead of schedule (something that doesn’t happen to often these days!). The interior btw, looks very clean and tasteful.

I have briefly met with the executive chef and look forward to our future sit down when we can chat a bit more and bring his story to our readers.
We had posted a copy of the preliminary menu while they iron out any creases and get things going. The old sign for Classic’s came down that day and the new logo for Shmo’s was hung soon after.

We dd not see the humor in their choice of business names – “Shmo’s Bistro”.  We broached the subject of the choice with the owner, but he didn’t care notice the significance of the name with the usual definition – dork  jerk - a dull stupid fatuous person. We suggested that people might not eat there because of the name.  He simply stated that someone told him that a shorter name was the best way to go…. Their website domain expires in May of 2012 and we seriously doubt that they will ever be back.

Shmo’s closed in September 2011 after having been open for less than 5 months.
